From 3-14 months of age, your puppy is a sponge. What should you train? How should you train it? How do you lay that invaluable foundation before embarking on training for your chosen sport?

Agility is an off-leash sport in a potentially highly distracting environment. A balance of play and control for these youngsters allows for an easy transition into agility training and competition. On this DVD, Rachel Sanders discusses and demonstrates her training methods for:

• Hands-on control
• Sit, stand, and down (stationary and moving)
• Stay
• Balancing food and toy play
• Basic recalls and recalls with distractions
• Left and right directionals
• Hand touches
• Line up left and right side
• Wobble board work and the teeter bang game
• Initial jump work

Rachel Sanders lives in Atascadero, California, where she operates Fast Forward Dog Sports. For the past 25 years, Rachel has been involved in a variety of dog training activities, including competitive obedience, hearing-dog training, and agility training. Since 1994, her focus has been solely on agility.

Rachel lives with five Border collies (Spinner, Whist, Fable, Stuie, and Gifted) and two JRTs (Trump and Better). She competes currently with Fable, Stuie, and Better. Rachel has earned ADCH titles on four dogs (Spinner, Whist, Trump, and Fable) and MACH titles on three dogs (Whist MACH3, Trump MACH2, and Fable). Rachel and her dogs are familiar faces in the finals of both AKC and USDAA national championships, and she has won the top spot on the podium four times. In addition, Rachel and Fable have represented the US in international competition.

Rachel is a regular seminar presenter and a favorite instructor at agility camps throughout the United States.
